Meet Dr. Sam Wertheimer

Dr. Sam Wertheimer is a licensed clinical psychologist and relational psychotherapist with expertise in child and family psychology. Her practice is located in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA. 

Dr. Sam’s approach to psychotherapy prioritizes the therapeutic relationship and the ways in which it can be used to help you, your child, or your family make positive change. While her area of specialty is child, adolescent, and family psychology, she works individually with adults, as well. Her training uniquely equips her to work with people across the lifespan.

Dr. Sam received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, and she completed her advanced training at WellSpan Philhaven Hospital in Mount Gretna, Pennsylvania. Dr. Sam has taught at the graduate level, and has published psychoanalytic research on grief and bereavement. She is a credentialed Registered Health Service Psychologist, and holds Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT), which allows her to offer virtual services in over 35 different states.

Meet Sarah Cooper, M.S.

Sarah Cooper, M.S. is a fifth-year doctoral student at Chestnut Hill College, where she obtained her master's degree in clinical psychology in 2023.

Sarah has clinical experience in a variety of clinical settings including the Drexel University Counseling Center, Merakey Community Mental Health, and the Chestnut Hill College Psychological Services Clinic. In these roles, she has provided individual therapy, group therapy and has experience conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations with children and adults. In her clinical work, Sarah takes a person-centered and psychodynamic approach.

Sarah is passionate about advocacy and human rights, and holds the role as co-chair of Chestnut Hill's Human Rights Forum. Sarah also teaches at the graduate level as an adjunct professor, and has published articles related to multiculturalism and beautyism. Under Dr. Wertheimer’s supervision, Sarah offers psychological evaluations, as well as individual psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults.
